Today, let’s dive into a clash of titans: the iPhone 15 versus the brand new iPhone 16! I checked out the specs we got, and honestly, there’s some interesting stuff to talk about. Both got a 5/5 rating, so they must be good!

Design and Screen: No Big Changes?

Okay, first thing, both phones have a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. Same size, same screen tech, so image quality should be pretty much the same and still awesome. The 15 model here is Green, the 16 is White. I kinda dig the colors!

Under the Hood: A16 vs A18

Here’s where things get a bit different! The iPhone 15 runs on the A16 Bionic chip (6-core CPU), which is already super fast. But the iPhone 16 comes with the new A18 chip, also with a 6-core CPU. We can expect the 16 to be even faster, smoother for gaming and all that.

One weird thing though: the iPhone 15 lists 6 GB of installed memory, but for the iPhone 16, the sheet says… 0 GB? 🤔 That’s probably a mistake or missing info, ’cause 0 GB just isn’t possible. Let’s assume it has at least as much as the 15, maybe more.

Camera: 48MP for Both, But…

Both iPhones rock a 48MP main sensor. The iPhone 15 says “Double appareil photo” (Dual camera), while the iPhone 16 mentions an “Système avancé à deux caméras” (Advanced dual-camera system). Sounds a bit fancier on the 16, right? Maybe some software improvements or slightly better sensors? We’ll need to see real tests!

OS and Battery Life: Slight Edge to the 16

The iPhone 16 comes straight with iOS 18, while the 15 has iOS 17 (it’ll get the update for sure). Battery-wise, the iPhone 16 seems to last a bit longer:

• Video playback: 22h (iPhone 16) vs 20h (iPhone 15)
• Video streaming: 18h (iPhone 16) vs 16h (iPhone 15)
• Audio playback: 80h for both (a tie!)

It’s not a massive difference, but 2 extra hours of video can matter. For the SIM, it’s Dual SIM (nano-SIM and eSIM) on both models.

Storage and Price: The Big Question

Both models compared here have 128 GB of storage. That’s a good starting point. However, the price… The iPhone 15 is listed at €823, and the iPhone 16 jumps to €923. That’s a €100 difference!

So, Which One Should You Get?

Honestly, it’s not simple. The iPhone 16 brings a newer chip (A18), better video/streaming battery life, the latest iOS, and maybe a slightly improved camera system. But is it worth the extra €100?

The iPhone 15 is still an amazing phone (it got 5/5!), with crazy performance from the A16, a great screen, and a solid camera. If your budget is a bit tighter or the small upgrades on the 16 don’t seem crucial to you, the 15 is an excellent choice and saves you quite a bit of cash.
