A thrilling match at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium (we imagine!) saw Real Madrid win 3-2 against Deportivo Alavés, but not without a few scares.
Dominating the start of the match with 69% possession, Los Blancos quickly took the lead thanks to a goal from Lucas Vazquez in the first minute. Kylian Mbappé, in great form, doubled the lead just before half-time (40′). On the return from the locker room, Rodrygo seemed to have put Real Madrid out of reach (48′). But they hadn’t reckoned with the fighting spirit of the Alavés players who reduced the score in the 85th minute through Christian Protesoni, then equalized in the 86th minute with Kevin Garcia! A disastrous scenario narrowly avoided for Real Madrid who finally won 3-2. We note the 12 shots from Alavés players against only 10 for Real Madrid, a sign of domination that was not reflected on the scoreboard.
